Ingram Micro Teams Up With Merisel and Tech Data In The Spirit Of Giving
- Top three distributors team up for community fundraiser -

Mississauga, Ontario -- Ingram Micro Inc. (Canada), a subsidiary of the world’s largest wholesale provider of technology products and services, today announced it has joined forces with Merisel Canada, Inc. and Tech Data Canada, Inc., two subsidiaries of the world’s leading distributors of computer products and business services, to raise donations for a Greater Toronto Area (GTA) Food Drive. The fundraiser kicks off September 27th and runs until October 7th, 1999. Associates of the three leading distributors are encouraged to make a non-perishable (canned and dry goods) or a cash donation to the cause.
“Canadian distributors participated in the event two years ago and it was such a success that we felt it was time to come together, once again to give something back to our community,” said Mary Whittle, Vice President of Marketing, Ingram Micro Inc.
Donations to the Food Drive will be picked up on October 8, 1999 by neighbouring food banks located in the communities where Ingram Micro, Merisel and Tech Data’s Canadian headquarters are based. “Working together as a team, we will be able to raise more donations for local food banks at a time when they need it the most,” says Jamie McClelland, Vice President of Marketing, Merisel.
“Although we operate in a very competitive environment, it’s great that we can come together and support our community with this initiative,” says Greg Myers, Vice President of Marketing, Tech Data Canada.
