Tech Data Streamlines HP Server and Storage CTO Process with Introduction of i-Sight Tool

Mississauga, ON – July 7, 2010 – Tech Data Canada, a leading distributor of IT products, logistics management and other value-added services, today announced the implementation of a new case management software tool to administer HP Server and Storage Configure to Order (CTO) requests. The communication tool called “i-Sight” is a commercially available case management solution that Tech Data has customized to manage its CTO business. It will streamline the entire process by using a case number to centralize all updates associated with each CTO request and by allowing resellers to track progress online.

“i-Sight improves accuracy, communication and efficiency by avoiding the middleman and ensuring that all necessary information is readily available to the Tech Data specialist working the request,” says Paul Wilkinson, manager product management & purchasing at Tech Data Canada. “This case management system, which tracks every new development from start to finish in one stream, will make a big difference in Tech Data’s ability to keep resellers informed about how we are moving forward with their CTO requests.”

Designed to function as a completely self-driven tool, resellers can now enter their requests online. i-Sight also prompts users with relevant questions so that all of the necessary details are captured and requests are responded to efficiently. Once submitted, resellers can track their request – from creation to invoicing – through a link on Tech Data’s website, www.techdata.ca.

“After incorporating the feedback of our staff and several resellers, i-Sight has been well received by those who have tested the tool,” continued Wilkinson. “We’re confident that the official introduction of this new system will only lead to positive change between Tech Data and its community of resellers.”

Although highly intuitive, Tech Data will provide key partners with i-Sight training to ensure they are completely comfortable with the new software. While resellers are encouraged to use the tool to enter their HP Server and Storage requests online, they are still able to contact their Tech Data field sales specialists directly with any questions.

i-Sight will also handle all incoming  HP National Master Standing Order (NMSO) requests for servers and storage products, including all CTO, custom Build to Order (BTO) and Enterprise Storage requests.
