Tech Data named Distributor of the Year
for third consecutive year
Resellers across Canada vote on their industry favourites
at the 2009 Reseller Choice Awards
Mississauga, ON – January 22, 2010 -Tech Data Canada, a leading provider of IT products, logistics management and other value-added services, was recently named winner in three key categories at the 2009 Reseller Choice Awards: Best Distributor, Best Value-Add Distributor and Best Industry Event.
"Since their inception in 2006, the Reseller Choice Awards have become the most comprehensive IT awards channel survey in Canada,” said Julian Lee, President, TechnoPlanet Productions Inc., which founded the awards, conducts the surveys and tabulates the results. “Based on its third consecutive win in the Best Distributor Category, it would appear that Tech Data Canada is, hands down, the favourite distributor for resellers in Canada.”
As in previous years, hundreds of resellers across Canada voted in the 2009 annual Reseller Choice Awards. The voting is 100 per cent contributed by resellers, system integrators and system builders in Canada.
In addition to being named Best Distributor, Tech Data also took home honours in the Best Value-Add Distributor category. “We have always worked extremely hard to meet and exceed the needs of our customers, and this award is validation of all the efforts behind our state-of-the-art Advanced Technology Solutions Centre, our best-in-breed Configuration Centre and our highly skilled technical sales team,” said Rick Reid, President of Tech Data Canada. “I’m delighted to be recognized for our achievement in this area.”
A third award was given to Tech Data Canada for Best Industry Event for its Business Builder Tour. The event – the cornerstone of Tech Data’s broad portfolio of events – generated a 27 per cent increase in attendance in 2009 over 2008 and provided nearly 1,000 resellers with unparalleled access to products and programs from over 40 leading manufacturers.
“Again, I’m incredibly pleased at the recognition our event has garnered. I heard exceptional feedback throughout the year as I travelled the country as part of the Business Builder Tour, but to have impartial validation in the form of a Reseller Choice Award is the icing on the cake,” remarked Reid.
