Life Insurance

  • Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance - Tech Data provides full-time employees with Life and AD&D coverage in the amount of 1X their annual salary up to $50,000.
  • Supplemental Life Insurance - employees are eligible to elect supplemental coverage for themselves, their spouses, and their dependent children at a group rate.
  • Dependent Life Insurance - employees may also elect dependent life coverage for their spouse and eligible dependents.
  • Our current provider is Sun Life Financial.

Short and Long-Term Disability

Short-Term Disability(STD) coverage is an employer-paid benefit that is available to full-time employees after six (6) months of service.

  • If you are unable to work due to a non-occupational illness or injury, Tech Data provides full-time employees a Short-Term Disability benefit at no additional cost. Benefits are based on your length of service and earnings start after the 6th calendar day of the disability for up to 26 weeks.

Long-Term Disability(LTD) coverage is an employee-elected benefit that is available to full-time employees on the first of the month following 30 days of service.

  • If you are unable to work due to an illness or injury after 26 weeks of short-term disability, you may be eligible for long-term disability. Employees may elect from 2 different income replacement options - 50% or 60% of annual salary.

401(k) Retirement Savings Plan

Employees are eligible to enroll effective the first of the month following 30 days of service. Fidelity Investments administers the Tech Data Corporation 401(k) Savings Plan.

  • Employees are eligible for the Company match on the first of the month following one year of service.
  • Tech Data will match 50% on the first 6% of employee contributions.
  • Employees can choose to invest in 21 different options. These options include fixed, equity, and lifestyle offerings.

Employee Stock Purchase Program

Employees are eligible to enroll effective the first day of the month following 30 days of employment.

  • Shares of Tech Data stock may be purchased at a 15% discount by payroll deduction, lump-sum purchase, or a combination of both. No brokerage fees are charged for stock purchases.

Tuition Reimbursement

Employee development is a priority at Tech Data. As a result, we support and promote continuing education efforts. The company's tuition reimbursement program is designed to provide assistance to employees who are enrolled in coursework at regionally accredited colleges and universities in pursuit of an associate, bachelors, masters or doctorate degree. Benefits are available to employees after six (6) months of service:

  • Tuition reimbursement maximum for undergraduate and graduate tuition or lab fees is $5250 per calendar year. A tiered reimbursement scale will reimburse employees based on grade attainment:


  • A - 100%, capped at $600
    B -   80%, capped at $480
    C -   50%, capped at $300

Flexible Spending Accounts

  • Medical Spending Account - Employees may defer up to $5,000 of tax-free dollars for reimbursement of qualified medical expenses each year.
  • Dependent Care Spending Account - Employees may defer up to $5,000 of tax-free dollars for reimbursement of qualified dependent care expenses.
  • Subsidized child care - In concert with the Dependent Care account, Tech Data provides a child care subsidy of $70 per month per child up to age 5 (pre-kindergarten) to assist our employees in affording monthly child care expenses.

Paid Time Off Benefits

  • Company Holidays - in general, Tech Data observes the following holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
  • Personal Time - All regular full-time employees receive sixteen (16) personal hours per year.
  • Vacation Days - Following completion of ninety days of service, full-time new hire employees are eligible for five-vacation days.
  • Sick Time Off - Full-time employees accrue six (6) sick days per anniversary year.
  • Bereavement Time Off - Full-time employees will receive a maximum of three (3) paid days in the event of death in the immediate family.
  • United Way Day - Employees who participate in the United Way payroll deduction program and contribute one (1) hour of their pay per month may earn one (1) paid United Way day off each calendar year.
