Tech Data is committed to being a responsible corporate citizen, and as part of this commitment, we recognize our responsibility to make a positive impact in the communities in which our colleagues live and work, and to inspire them to do so.

Our Approach to Community Outreach
Tech Data’s community outreach program is designed to build strong partnerships with and in support of non-profit, civic and other local organizations. Our program focuses on four elements:

• 2. Colleague volunteerism

True to Tech Data’s culture of giving, we value the volunteer work of Tech Data colleagues and recognize their passion and dedication. We believe engaging, mobilizing and encouraging those colleagues is one of the most effective ways of spreading and perpetuating our culture.

• 3. Involvement in civic and local/regional economic development organizations

Our local and regional relationships with civic groups and involvement in economic development organizations demonstrate our engagement in our communities, help keep our facilities safe, and helps support local economies.

• 4. Partnerships with cultural organizations

Aligned with our Diversity and Inclusion strategy, Tech Data encourages participation in community programs and groups that advance cultural competence and foster the professional development of all people—both inside and outside our organization.

Examples of Our Work in the Community

Children’s Dream Fund and Make-A-Wish
Tech Data is actively involved in supporting Children’s Dream Fund and the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Both organizations provide once-in-a-lifetime experiences for children with critical illnesses. Annually, Tech Data hosts a charity golf tournament in support of these organizations, raising a significant amount of money each year. We also have executives serving on the local boards of these organizations in both Florida and Arizona.

Supporting Education in Our Local Communities
In support of education, Tech Data coordinated backpack drives across multiple locations to collect school supplies for children and teachers. In San Antonio, our colleagues collected 50 backpacks full of school supplies for kids at Benchmark Family Services center, ensuring that 50 local foster children started school on the right foot. In Clearwater, Florida, Tech Data sponsored every student at nearby High Point Elementary school, providing 650 full backpacks and a truckload of school supplies for teachers. Tech Data is proud to support education in our communities and recognizes the value of children going to school with the right tools to learn.

Educating the Next Generation of STEM Workers
Tech Data hosted STEM Goes Red, a program of the American Heart Association, bringing over a hundred middle school girls from local Boys & Girls Clubs to our corporate headquarters in Clearwater. The day was filled with workshops around Science, Technology, Engineering and Math, with a focus on empowering young girls to explore careers in STEM. Tech Data is pleased to be a part of an initiative that promotes both STEM education and heart health.

Americas’ Volunteer of the Year
In 2019, we awarded our Volunteer of the Year honor to a deserving Tech Data colleague who inspired his teammates with his enthusiasm and selflessness throughout the year. Jason Gruber, an inside account representative in Clearwater, Florida, was the top fundraising individual in the state for Special Olympics Florida four years in a row – leading Tech Data to take top fundraising honors as an organization as well. Jason has also made dreams come true for five children through his work with Children’s Dream Fun. Our 2018 Volunteer of the Year was Mary Bonnici, a vendor marketing manager in Ontario, Canada. She was nominated by nine colleagues for her engagement and leadership in her site’s charitable efforts. She successfully organized food drives, silent auctions and events all with the purpose of raising both money and mindfulness for multiple charitable organizations.
