Meet The Update

Posted by Mike Fitch on Jul 16, 2021

You may be familiar with the Tech Data Power of Partnership newsletter, our bi-weekly newsletter sent out to our partner community with news and updates from within Tech Data and across the IT channel. Power of Partnership’s history dates back more than a decade and has been foundational in helping us stay connected with the IT ecosystem. While Power of Partnership has been a great resource, we are excited to announce its sunset and re-emergence as The UpdateThe Update by Tech Data ensures you’ve upgraded to the latest version of technology news and information.

It's not just the name that’s changing, either. The re-emergence of our channel partner newsletter comes with an entire reader-first mindset:

The bottom line up front: Crisp expectation-setting

Our email inboxes are cluttered and our schedules are jam-packed. Our primary goal with the new design is to keep our audience’s busy schedules top of mind. We’ve added a new subject line format to give you topline themes, as well as a new introduction section so that you know exactly what will be featured in each issue. Just want to read one specific article? Each article title is linked to send you directly to that section of the newsletter. We’ll also give you a word count and estimated read time to make it easier to prioritize what you want to read and when.

What to expect: Your new biweekly talk track

We recognized that overwhelming link farms are… not ideal. We’ve cleaned up the format so that you get one story at a time, up front, and then more clickable-friendly options if you’d like to take a deeper dive. The articles themselves are more of the “30,000-foot-view” and are meant to be quick, yet informative, so even if you’re just skimming, The Update will equip you with the talking points you can use in your next watercooler conversation or customer meeting. We’ve even added convenient social media sharing buttons, so that you can share directly to your LinkedIn connections or Twitter followers with just two clicks. You can expect to see a wide range of relevant technology and IT channel topics, with an emphasis on data center, next-gen and edge technologies.

What’s next: Growth in the community

We want the entire The Update readership to be able to learn the latest news and turn it into actionable insight by solving customer challenges or delivering business outcomes. If you haven’t yet subscribed to The Update newsletter, we invite you to opt-in. You’ll receive The Update biweekly on Wednesdays from message@email.techdata.com so make sure you have us in your safe senders list.
