At TD SYNNEX, it’s a key part of our shared values that ‘our differences make the difference,’ and as our two legacy organizations come together, we will all play a role in ensuring that diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) are at the heart of our culture.

One way we are working to create a sense of belonging for all our co-workers is through dedicated employee resource groups. Our employee resource groups aim to create community and culture for all identities, experiences and backgrounds at TD SYNNEX, while supporting our employees through advocacy, allyship, professional development, leadership, events, education and so much more.

Check out the first story in our resource group profile series, featuring Fuerza, our Latinx employee resource group.

Celebrating Hispanic/Latinx Heritage Month:

Hispanic/Latinx Heritage Month is celebrated in the U.S. from Sept.15 through Oct. 15 to honor the history, culture and contributions of Latinx Americans from Mexico, Spain, the Caribbean, and Central and South America.

This year, Fuerza’s Hispanic/Latinx Heritage Month theme was called HOPE — in recognition of the heritage and resilience of the Latinx community. The campaign featured several internal events, panels, videos, employee features and articles focused on History, Opportunity, Promise, and Equity (HOPE).

Additionally, to honor Fuerza’s promise to support Latinx communities across the country, co-workers were encouraged to donate time or resources to Feeding America food banks in help fight food insecurity in their neighborhoods.

Our Commitment to Cultural Diversity:

Our company recognizes how important the diverse cultures of our co-workers are because of the viewpoints and insights gained from them. In October 2019, our CEO, Rich Hume, signed the Hispanic Promise, reinforcing our commitment to fostering a diverse workforce and cultivating an inclusive environment.

This commitment to supporting and fostering the many different cultures of our co-workers has not only spurred great collaboration and a more welcoming work environment, but has also resulted in meaningful recognitions. Most recently, legacy Tech Data received a Top Employer for Latino Leaders award from the National Diversity Council, a non-partisan 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to being both a resource and an advocate for the value of diversity and inclusion. The award recognizes organizations with an extraordinary and unfailing commitment to Latinos in the workplace and surrounding communities.

“Being selected as the Top Employer for Latino Leaders is proof that as a company, we are making an impact internally and also externally,” said Lynn. “As a global organization, we embrace the different cultures and uniqueness that each co-worker can offer, and we welcome our co-workers to bring their authentic selves to the organization.”
