The IBM 
xSeries 235 uses Intel® Xeon™ processors, providing you with power and
performance at an affordable price. Offering a pathway for future growth, the
x235 provides superior expandability with up to 12GB of DDR memory, internal
storage capability up to 660GB and six available PCI slots. Integrated Gigabit
Ethernet provides high-speed networking bandwidth while keeping all slots free
for other adapters.

Please read for all new x235 8671xx models
New models of our Xeon DP systems are offered due to memory
technology changes in capacity and density. To maintain adequate supply
through 2004, IBM xSeries is making this transition on 256 MB memory
DIMMs â€" transitioning models to a 256-Mb-based component. Chipkillâ„¢
will no longer be supported on 256 MB DIMMs. The previously offered
Chipkill feature on the 256 MB memory DIMMs will be available only
on a limited basis, via special bid. Chipkill requires all 512MB or
higher x4 DIMMs to be installed

ServerRAID
Adapters: The dual-channel, Ultra320 integrated
controller supports both Ultra320 HDDs, but the
entire SCSI bus will default to the slower rate (MB/second) if
HDDs of different technologies are mixed on the same bus. The
LSI chipset allows for two HDDs to be allocated for mirroring if
a RAID adapter is not installed. One additional HDD may be
designated as a hot-spare for HDDs configured in the onboard
mirror. Mirrored and hot-spare HDDs must be matched. Note 2.ServeRAID-6M
and ServeRAID-4Lx installations in slots 3-5 on hot-swap models
for internal HDDs, require cable option

Hot-Swap 80pin (U320)

: hot-swap models are cabled
internally with a single-drop, nonterminated 16-bit wide
Ultra320 SCSI cable. One end is connected to the
internal 68-pin connector of channel A of the integrated
Ultra320 SCSI controller and the other end to the
hot-swap backplane, which provides termination for the
SCSI bus. The X235 can support 9 Drives with optional
Drive expansion Kit. The Kit will use the two available
5.25 drive bays.
