Cisco Smart Care

Q. What is Cisco Smart Care?
A. The Cisco Smart Care Service offers smart, proactive capabilities that enable partners to build powerful, personalized services. You can combine Cisco intellectual property, delivery infrastructure, and tools with your own value-added capabilities in a unique offering customized to your customer’s needs.

Q. Why should partners sell Cisco Smart Care Service?
A. Cisco Smart Care Service helps partners expand their business opportunities by providing a proactive services platform on which they can build the next generation of personalized services that promote higher profit margins, recurrent revenue, and long-lasting customer relationships.

Q. What are the eligibility and minimum requirement for partners to qualify for Cisco Smart Care?
A. At the moment, the minimum requirement is for the partner to be a Cisco Certified Select-level partner. Voice and security assessment will need additional specialization qualification. In the future, the partner will also need to undertake training and assessment. This is a free test provided by Cisco. Online testing will take less than an hour.

Q. Who is the target customer for Cisco Smart Care Service?
A. The Cisco Smart Care Service is designed for midsize businesses, typically between 100 and 1000 employees. Target customers primarily or exclusively use Cisco networking devices and lack sufficient in-house resources with networking expertise, or have qualified IT staff but choose to save time and effort maintaining and optimizing their network to help ensure higher network security, availability, and performance.

Q. How does Cisco Smart Care compare to Cisco SMARTnet service?
A. With Cisco Smart Care service, customers receive networkwide proactive network health checkups, remote monitoring, diagnostics, software repairs, and technical support customized by and delivered through their local Cisco Certified Partner. With Cisco SMARTnet Service, customers have direct, anytime access to Cisco engineers and award-winning Cisco service tools for technical support, flexible device –level coverage, and various hardware replacement service level options, but do not receive any dashboard visibility into the health and security of their network, nor do they have a partner doing remote monitoring as part of their overall service.

Q. How is Cisco Smart Care Service priced?
A. Cost is determined by two factors: (1) the number of devices on the network (categorized across 10 fixed pricing bands) and (2) the types of applications and devices that reside on the network. The number of devices on the network is a combination of those automatically discovered and inventoried along with any manual additions made by you. This may increase over time because of the weekly discovery process.
