What carrier has been selected by Tech Data for Door-to-Door deliveries to Argentina?

Tech Data has selected Federal Express for shipments to Argentina.

Why did Tech Data choose Federal Express?

Federal Express was selected because it is the only carrier that can provide an invoice with a detailed breakdown of charges. The customer will need this in order to receive a fiscal credit for IVA taxes from the Argentine government.

What is the transit time?

Delivery is typically scheduled in 2 to 3 business days for Capital Federal and Gran Buenos Aires. Deliveries to other locations may require 2 to 3 additional days.

How can I pay for the freight if I don't have an open account with Tech Data?

If you don't have an account with us, you can use an authorized credit card or a wire transfer to pay for freight charges. We have negotiated flat fees for wire transfers with Puente Hermanos and Western Union.

Will I have to pay for a broker once the sipment arrives in Argentina?

No, all nationalization charges will be paid by Federal Express, who will collect duties and taxes from the customer at the time of delivery. If the customer does not have money to pay duties and taxes, FedEx will attempt delivery of the shipment up to three times. The customer will be required to reimburse FedEx for all duties and taxes before he is given posession of the shipment.

Is Door-to-Door service available only for deliveries to Buenos Aires?

No, Federal Express also offers this service to most cities in Argentina.

Is there a weight limit for products shipped Door-to-Door?

Yes, the maximum allowed weight is 50 kilos.

Is there a value limit?

Yes, the value of the shipment cannot exceed US$3000.

Are there any Customs limitations?

No, although it is important to note that if one shipment includes different product types, Argentine Customs will charge the highest duty tax rate of a given product and apply it to the entire shipment. This is an important point to keep in mind when ordering products.

What should I do if the shipment does not arrive within the specified transit time?

If the customer knows the shipment tracking number, he should call Federal Express Argentina at (54-11) 4-630-0300. If the customer does not have the tracking number, he can call the Sales Associate in our Miami office to obtain the tracking number and then contact Federal Express Argentina.
