What carrier has been selected by Tech Data for Door-to-Door deliveries to Mexico?

Tech Data has selected UPS for shipments to Mexico.

Why did Tech Data choose UPS?

UPS was selected because it is the only carrier that offers two service options for door-to-door delivery to Mexico: Express Service, with a transit time of 2 to 3 days to Mexico City, Guadalajara and Monterrey (customers in other cities should add 2 or 3 days, depending on their location), and Expedited Service, with a transit time of 4 to 6 days. In addition, UPS was able to offer Tech Data, and therefore our customers, the most competitive rates in Mexico.

What duties and taxes should I expect to pay?

The customer should expect to pay duties (from 0% - 20%) depending on the commodity being imported, 8% DAT taxes and 15% IVA taxes.

Will I have to pay for a broker once the shipment arrives in Mexico?

No, for shipments that do not exceed US$15,000, all charges will be paid by UPS. For single shipments over US$15,000, UPS's broker will still clear the shipment but there will be a nominal brokerage fee (.0045% of the sum of the value of the product, duties, 8% DAT taxes, and 15% IVA tax). The IVA tax is recoverable. Customers will be required to reimburse duties and taxes before shipment is delivered.

Is door-to-door service available only to Mexico City?

No, UPS offers door-to-door service to most cities in Mexico.

Is there a weight limit?

No, there is no weight limit for this service.

Is there a value limitation?

No, there is no value limitation. However, if the value of the shipment exceeds US$15,000 the customer will have to pay a nominal brokerage fee (.0045% of the value of the product plus duties, 8% DAT and 15% IVA). Example:
