Tech Data presenta nuevo programa Var Partner Plus

CLEARWATER, FLA., (May 8, 2001) - Tech Data Corp. today launched VAR Partner Plus, a customer-loyalty program dedicated to supporting technology solution providers with concentrated business-development services and access to rapidly emerging technologies. The program, free to all Tech Data customers, advises solution providers on ways to increase profitability through bundled customer-care services, while also creating incremental revenue opportunities from developing markets such as digital imaging and information appliances. As customers build loyalty through increased sales, they receive additional services at discounted rates, or in some instances, for free.

"VAR Partner Plus leverages our enhanced electronic customer relationship management tools to work more closely with solution providers at identifying add-on opportunities," said David King, Tech Data vice president of sales and services. "The goal is to help our customers create a services package that enables them to not only build their accounts, but to use services as a means of retaining them - something that becomes more challenging as our economy continues to weaken."

Under the new program, solution providers can choose from services ranging from e-commerce tools and technical support to financial programs and logistics management to grow their sales and earn free services. Solution providers may offer these services at no charge to their customers as a means of building loyalty or offer them on a fee-basis to boost profits. VAR Partner Plus members also receive opportunity for discounts on new educational offerings and free Tech Data business development seminars that teach solution providers fundamental financial principles such as how to assess the credit worthiness of potential accounts and creative financing options.

Tech Data is nearly doubling the number of pricing columns it currently offers to help solution providers get started in the program. "By increasing our pricing levels from five to nine categories, VAR Partner Plus members have greater opportunity to make that stretch and earn discounts more quickly," notes King. "Our intent is to make it easier for them to get to that next level, but to help them do it in a way that adds value to the relationship. By working with them in a consultative fashion to build their business, we hope to accomplish that purpose."

Specialized Solutions

For solution providers looking to build incremental revenue, Tech Data's VAR Partner Plus program gives members priority access to the company's nine specialized business units covering emerging technologies and business sectors including Apple Solutions, CAD/Graphics, Components, Enterprise, Digital Imaging, Information Appliances, Licensing, Media and Supplies, and Networking Solutions. The units combine the focused technological expertise and comprehensive service levels to aid solution providers in building their skills in these areas and help them to more quickly penetrate these high-margin markets.

Each business unit offers solution providers access to highly trained specialists who can help them with tailored services including financing options, education and training, logistics management and more that address their specific business needs.

The TechSelect Advantage

Tech Data's VAR Partner Plus program complements the company's TechSelect program, a membership-based alliance of solution providers targeting the small-to-mid-size business (SMB) market. Through the program, TechSelect members will receive additional benefits including a dedicated pricing column and special promotional opportunities.
