CLEARWATER, Fla., (February 4, 2002) - Tech Data Corporation (NASDAQ/NMS: TECD), a leading global provider of IT products, logistics management and other value-added services, today announced the availability of 3Com Corporation's (Nasdaq: COMS) NBX® networked telephony solutions via the distributor's Networking Solutions Specialized Business Unit. The products give IT resellers the opportunity to provide integrated voice and data services that leverage existing IP networks for applications such as voicemail and customer relationship management (CRM). The agreement also gives 3Com access to Tech Data's vast customer base of resellers focused on the small-to-midsize business (SMB) market.
Tech Data's telephony division helps solution providers realize high-margin opportunities in the high-end networking segment. As part of the company's Networking Solutions Specialized Business Unit, the division tailors services such as business development support, education and training, logistics management and consultative product solutions and configuration to the specific characteristics of voice and data technology resellers.

Computer telephony integration (CTI) technology applications provide the ability to authenticate callers, recognize a voice for message forwarding, determine how or where to process a call, and provide interactive voice response to callers. Also, the technology manages voice or videoconferences, collects and displays live calls or messages left by callers, receives and routes messages to fax machines, and initiates a "smart agent" application to provide help with the caller's request.
