CLEARWATER, Fla., (February 20, 2002) - Tech Data Corp., a leading global provider of IT products, logistics management and other value-added services, placed second on FORTUNE magazine's 20th anniversary ranking of America's Most Admired Companies. The company ranked second in the "wholesalers - electronics and office equipment" category, ahead of all competitors.
The report, appearing in the March 4 issue of the magazine, recognizes businesses for management quality, product/service quality, innovativeness, investment value, financial soundness, talent, social responsibility and use of assets. FORTUNE describes the listing as "the definitive report card on corporate reputations," noting that these organizations "seem to perform their best when the heat is on, consistently delivering to shareholders, customers and employees."
Companies were scored based on extensive surveys of executives, directors and analysts in each of the 58 industries comprising the listing of the 2002 America's Most Admired Companies.
